  1. Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro)

PEDro is the Physiotherapy Evidence Database, a free database of over 46,000 randomised trials, systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines in physiotherapy.  Gives quick access to bibliographic information and abstracts of randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in physiotherapy. Most trials on the database have been rated for quality

  1. REHABDATA

A literature database on disability and rehabilitation. It covers physical, mental, and psychiatric disabilities, independent living, vocational rehabilitation, special education, assistive technology, law, employment, and other issues as they relate to people with disabilities.

  1. CIRRIE Database (Center for International Rehabilitation Research Information and Exchange)

A public, international database that indexes articles and documents including many published outside the U.S. on rehabilitation topics. Maintained by the State University of New York at Buffalo.

  1. National Guideline Clearinghouse

Comprehensive database of full-text evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents.

  1. Cochrane Library of Systematic Reviews

The Cochrane Library is a collection of databases that contain high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making.  Full text articles on the effects of healthcare, focusing on evidence-based medicine and studies, from 4800 records.

  1. UpToDate
    Medical knowledge at the point of care. It comprises of topic reviews and synthesis followed by detailed recommendations. Written by experts, evidence-based and continuously updated. UpToDate is available free in the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and can be accessed @ uptodate.com/online OR https://odeku.com.ui.edu.ng
  1. ERIC

The ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) provides extensive access to educational-related literature including covering all areas of education from preschool through to higher education.

  1. CINAHL Accessible through Hinari

Scholarly journal articles about nursing and allied health. Includes nursing interventions, management, education, theory, and history. Also includes allied health topics such as physical and occupational therapy. 1981-current.

Free Online Databases and Academic Search Engines

  1. Google Scholar

provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites

   13. Semantic Scholar

Similar to PubMed and Google Scholar, this is another free online database that searches academic journal articles.

    14. National Rehabilitation Information Center

The National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC) is the library of the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research.

    15. PubMed Scholarly journal articles about health and medicine, nursing, audiology, and biology. PubMed includes the MEDLINE database, but has newer content and additional life science journals. PubMed is late 1940s-current. 1940s-current.

PubMed is not a library database. It is a free online database by the National Library of Medicine and the National Institute of Health. It is an excellent source of research information, however, more than 50% of your search retrieval will be abstracts and not full text articles in studies you need.
